Feline Boarding Policies
The feline boarding suites at The Cottages at Cat Clinic North are designed to replicate a home environment. There are not sterile metal and hard surfaces that can be sprayed and sanitized. Our goal is to provide a safe, happy, healthy stay for all of our feline guests. Please read each policy below and call us at (616) 364-1211 if you have any questions.
Proof of Immunization
Any feline guests staying at The Cottages will be required to have up to date FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia) and Rabies vaccines.
Proof of vaccination must be an official certificate or other paperwork from a veterinarian or shelter stating which vaccines were given, the date of administration, and the date the next vaccines are due. Owner-administered vaccines will not be accepted. Records must be faxed or emailed to us at the time the reservations are made.
If your cat is unable to receive a vaccine due to documented health issues, please contact us. We will review these cases individually.
Parasite & Flea Policy
Our goal is to provide a safe, happy, and parasite-free stay for all of our feline guests. All cats entering The Cottages will be checked for signs of fleas. Any evidence of either live fleas or flea dirt will constitute a flea infestation and need to be treated accordingly.
If visible infestation signs are present at entry there will be a cleaning fee of $80* applied. This fee will cover the specialized flea treatment of the room at the time of discharge, as well as cleaning of the carpet for flea dirt.
Visible internal parasites viewed on your cat, or in their litter box, will result in a fresh fecal sample being tested at Cat Clinic North at your cost*. We will notify you of the results and arrange for all room residents to be treated for the infection.

Spay & Neuter Policy
All feline guests of The Cottages are required to be spayed or neutered in order to stay with us. Any kitten under 6 months of age that is not urine marking or in heat may stay with us as their age may preclude surgery. This is to ensure that no hormonal urine marking will occur while in residence. Any urine marking will require the carpets to be cleaned at the owner's cost of $80*.

Any feline guests staying at The Cottages are required to be negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. We require proof of a negative test within the past 5 years. This helps us ensure that each guest has a disease-free room.
Sick Cat Policy
Any feline guest staying at The Cottages that becomes ill during their stay will need immediate care. You or your representative will be contacted at the provided emergency contact number. Care can be provided at Cat Clinic North, or at an emergency facility if indicated. If we cannot reach you, we will begin diagnostics and treatment at the appropriate veterinary facility. We want your cat to be as healthy as possible upon your return.
Any cat found to be sneezing with discharge from the eyes or nose will be considered to be infectious. Any infectious cat will be transferred (as space permits) to Cat Clinic North for isolation care or hospitalization. Additional costs will apply*. If the other cats from your family who are boarding with the sick cat are not sneezing, they may remain at the cottages for their scheduled time. A charge of $80* will be applied to your bill as the room will need to be sanitized.
If your cat is a chronic sneezer due to anatomy or allergies we will need a document from your veterinarian stating this. All other cats with sneezing and/or discharge from eyes or nose will be assumed to be infectious.

We require payment for one half of expected services at time of drop off. Any additional fees for unexpected services such as medications, medication administration, testing, and treatments will be communicated to you during your cat’s stay. Any balance on the account is required to be paid in full at the time of pick up. If you pay the entire anticipated bill up front you will receive a 5% discount. We accept cash, checks, Care Credit, and debit/credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover).
